The Gem Valley Performing Arts Centre at 704 South Main on the Grace High School Campus is the site of the 7pm Saturday, February 23rd performance featuring Riverdale teen songstress Rivkah Steele.  This delightful 16 year old Preston High School cheerleader has been on the road to entertainment stardom since her first public singing performance at the tender age of 5.

Rivkah arrived the eighth child of Rex and Joanne Steele of Riverdale.  Her parents had met as BYU students on a semester abroad in Israel and have names each of their eventual brood of 7 sons and 3 daughters using biblically-inspired monikers.  The Hebrew name for Rebecca is Rivkah.  As the middle daughter, Rivkah has remained true to her namesake in the development pf her natural grace and beauty.

This charming talent has mastered the piano and violin as well as developing her unique soprano voice and has recorded two CD’s artfully produced by Steele Family Productions, You Can Believe and RIVKAH STEELE loving you.

The show at the GVPAC will also feature Rivkah’s talents as a National Champion clogger.  She has studied clogging since she was in the 3rd grade.  Students of her current dance instructor, Autumn Coats of Dayton, will join her on stage as well as her partner from the Preston HS Latin Dance Team.

A recent highlight of this charming girl’s career was being selected to Sound of America – an elite group of 200 band and choir students predominately chosen from All State Band & Choral Finalists.  – from all over the continental U.S.  Rivkah was further honored as one of the two featured soloists for this showcasing of talented American youth as they rehearsed at Elisabeth Town College in Pennsylvania and then embarked on a 25-day tour of Europe.  This was Rivkah’s first plane trip on the 7 hour flight to Frankfurt, Germany.  The group performed as many as three shows per day to include a command performance for Queen Elizabeth and in the Cathedral of the Notre Dame in Paris.

Rivkah plans to attend BYU to pursue a degree in Performance Arts on her quest to a career in Music.  She currently studies with Jay Richardson who has the numbers performed on her CD’s.  Richardson’s credentials include producing the recent The King and I at the Logan Eccles Theatre.

The founders of the Gem Valley Performing Arts Centre were dedicated to providing a facility to develop and showcase local talent as well as to promote cultural diversity in this rural area.  The Gem Valley Performing Arts Committee continues to promote that original mission and encourages community support and attendance.

Reserved seat tickets are currently available through courtesy vendor Sanders Furniture of Grace 425-3501 and Soda Springs 547-3706.  This evening of quality entertainment is available at $12 for adults and students $7.

Tickets are also currently available for the Saturday March 15th performance by the Brett family of Branson Missouri.  Their March 14th show in Preston is sold out and the GVPAC encourages early ticket purchases at $15 adults and $7 students.  The best performances by any entertainer are always to a “Full house.”  More information is available at www.gemvalleyarts.org.
