The Blackfoot Performing Arts Center will present the forth concert of the 2007-2008 Concert Series with the performance of “The Alley Cats” on Saturday, Feb. 16 at 7:30 pm. Susan Mann, programming director of the BPAC said “All of the concerts in the series have had great audience response. We expect this concert to be no different. I have personally heard this group perform and can guarantee you a night to remember! The music will appeal to all ages and will be an evening to laugh and enjoy the music of the ‘50’s and ‘60’s.” Tickets can be purchased in advance at Tweedy’s Music or by calling BPAC at 317-5508. They will also be available at the door the night of the concert.
The Alley Cats are known for not only their great talent and musical style but also their great comic timing. Their interaction with their audiences makes each show exciting, and fun. Their musical journey began in 1987 as the featured act in Disneyland’s “Blast to the Past,” salute to the l950’s. Their long-standing relationship with Disney also took them to New York City, where they were the featured vocalists for the world premier of Disney’s animated film, “Hercules.” They have performed thousands of times throughout the U.S. and shared the stage with such artists as Chubby Checker, the Beach Boys and Jerry Seinfeld. They are currently under contract at the Mirage Hotel in Las Vegas and perform as the opening act for Jay Leno when he is on stage there.
Every performance by The Alley Cats is accompanied by the sounds of laughter and voices joining in with them to sing the melodies we all know and love. They have won-over audiences nationally as they relate directly to the crowd with lively humor, engaging stories, and audience participation appealing to young and old alike. This energetic, talented group has earned them the title “America’s Permier Doo-Wop Group.”
