– The touring Broadway musical of Peter Pan will make a grand appearance at the Ellen Eccles Theatre on January 29 & 30 at 7:30 p.m. This high-flying musical is based on the lavish musical adaptation of J.M. Barrie’s beloved classic novel and is visiting more than 50 cities with Brooke Stone as Peter Pan and Gary Kimble as Captain Hook.
"Peter Pan is an enchanting and timeless musical classic that has delighted audiences for many decades," said Wally Bloss, executive director of the Cache Valley Center for the Arts. "The storybook setting of London, the enchantment of Never Land & Peter Pan, the splendid costumes, scenery and the musical numbers make it a visual treat for the entire family. It is truly a timeless and creative classic that will touch, inspire, dazzle and charm every generation.”
This Musical has music and lyrics by Mark Charlap, Carolyn Leigh, Jule Styne, Betty Comden and Adolph Green. PETER PAN recounts the whimsical adventures of the three Darling children when Peter Pan entices them into flying away from their nursery with him into the magic and wonder of Never Land, where they participate in all the exciting dreams children ever dream – and a few that are beyond their dreams.
Throughout their journey to Never Land, they meet Princess Tiger Lilly, the impish fairy Tinkerbelle, the lovable Lost Boys and a group of pirates led by Peter's archenemy, Captain Hook. Although this new touring production features the Darling children and Peter Pan “flying” to Never Land and retells their adventures in Broadway song dance and fantasy this production also features performances by professional actors to portray Michael, John and Wendy Darling. Mollie Vogt-Welch plays Wendy, Daniel Smith plays John and Michael Kelleher plays Michael.
Peter Pan premiered on Broadway stage in 1954, won three Tony Awards and was later recreated for television and performed in a historic live, full color broadcast. This production is part of a 6 month US & Canada tour. The producer, Jeffrey B. Moss, extends a special invitation to the community to see these wonderful actors as well as the other members of this company in this Broadway Musical.
