As a city mail carrier, I SO appreciate a cleared mailbox and safe forward access to your mail box. With many of your drivers out of school, home from college, or visiting for the holidays, you can give those of us who work thru the holidays a "Christmas break" by making room for delivery. We are taking off only Christmas day and New Years Day!
I was a walking carrier for 10 years, and I know your walking carriers are grateful for paths and snow melt and all your kindnesses. Pocatello and Chubbuck are really good to their carriers, and it makes our day, believe me. I still remember being drenched in a rainstorm my second day on the job (back in '79, ye gods) and a resident insisting I take her jacket! And all the guys who plow the boxes out on my route, and pull me out when I'm stuck. It's a great job!
