Good for the families in Chubbuck and Pocatello!   Yesterday 47 kids of all ages brought cans of food for the FoodBank, then made kites during the Kites for Cans and Change program at the Portneuf District Library.  They were assisted by dozens of parents and Jeanne Farnworth, Youth Services Librarian; and Marie Mercer and Micki Kawakami, The Sky's The Limit! volunteers.  This and the Cans for Fines (one can=$1 off your fine) programs at both local libraries are adding to the FoodBank stores this month.

It was a delightful way for everyone to contribute to the community and practice kitemaking skills.  This was the fourth kitemaking workshop held by Portneuf Library thanks to a grant from the Idaho Commission on the Arts which provided some of the funds for over 200 kites made by children and their parents during the past 2 months.

Thanks to all who made it so much fun and such a success!  Enjoy your kites!
