A former Pocatellan called me this morning to ask me to post his experiences with the fires in southern California:
" Former Pocatellan and Highland High School graduate of the class of 1977 Captain Randy Anderson of the Modesto City Fire Department spent one week with his unit fighting the recent wildfires in California. The winds proved to be an awesome enemy, as you can imagine. He said, “I know for sure that none of the firefighters that were there will ever forget the experience." Captain Anderson has 22 years on the Modesto Department. His 24-year-old son is also on the Modesto Fire Department. "
