0 responses 0 comments There's been a lot of talk about environmental concerns lately, and many Pocatello residents have been hoping for a recycling system that would allow them to recycle from home. We all want to do our part, but sorting and saving recyclable articles can be frustrating. The empty bottles and cans pile up and look messy; the newspapers blow around the yard on a windy day. And we hold off taking them to the recycling center, not really wanting to haul the dirty, smelly bags in our cars and dreading the thought of having to rummage through them to get each container into its rightful spot. Recycle Buddies to the rescue!

There is finally a solution! Recycle Buddies is a new home recycling pick-up service for Southeastern Idaho that provides clean and convenient sorting systems and twice a month home pick up for your recyclables. It should be easier to protect our environment and re-use the resources we have. The 5 'W's' (who, what, when, where, and why) of Recycle Buddies will provide the details. Who:  
Recycle Buddies is a family-run home pick-up service for Pocatello and the surrounding area. We love our beautiful community and are excited to provide recycling education, easy and clean sorting systems, and residential pick up service to build interest in protecting and caring for the earth through personal and family recycling and conservation.

When/Where:
After you contact Recycle Buddies, we schedule a short introduction with you to set up the bins and explain the ins and outs of recycling. We schedule our pick-up service around your needs; our basic schedule is bi-monthly with curbside or custom outside pick-up from your home.

What/How:
We provide and set up our recycling bins to make it clean and simple to organize and pack your recycling products. Recycle Buddies picks up and transports your recycling to local processors for you, saving time and money.  Best of all, Recycle Buddies uses part of the proceeds gained  from recycled materials to give back to local charity and helping services. We are excited to include SEICCA and our local animal rescue and shelter as future donation recipients.

It is our goal to build an awareness of positive means for making a difference. Recycle Buddies is a service built on the belief that each of us can do a part to create a better world and support each other, now and for future generations.

Why:  
Recycling is essential! It is a workable way that each of us can help preserve our beautiful world and its resources. It allows us to re-use available materials and demonstrates personal responsibility in reducing waste, pollution, and the deterioration of our planet. Recycling saves our natural world: trees, water, air, and animals. More than that, recycling is an investment in our future. It represents a fundamental belief in caring for each other and making choices that will improve circumstances for people everywhere. Recycling is a show of faith in our children, community, and the world as a whole.

Rates are as follows -
Set-Up: $25 (includes delivery, info, and sorting bins).
Monthly Service (2 pick-ups/month): $12.50
(*get one month free with year paid-in-full !!).
