As morning breaks in Southern California, residents and emergency personnel brace themselves for another day in hell. A High Wind Warning is in effect until 3pm this afternoon. There are nearly 60 fire-related power outages in the Miguel Mountain area (Rancho Santa Fe). In Ramona, the lack of power is causing water problems – (electrical water pumps) – and residents there are without water at present. Interstate 15 is still closed both North and Southbound in the Rainbow Valley area. Residents are urged NOT TO USE their cell phones and are discouraging any sight-seeing as the extra traffic is hampering necessary rescue and fire-fighting efforts. A Marine group, recently home from Iraq, will be headed up to the LA area, today to help on the fire line. Camp Pendleton is on alert and all occupants are packing personal belongings, food, water and fuel to be ready to leave at a moments notice. Qualcomm stadium has an eerie look that reminds us of the Dome in New Orleans. An announcement has gone out – all doctors and nurses that are available should check in to Qualcom stadium. Evacuation orders are constantly being updated. For more information, www.211SanDiego.org – Please keep trying, it is hard to get on this page. There is a listing of "confirmed destroyed" homes by News Channel 8 reporters on www.cbs8.com for those with family in the Rancho Bernardo and surrounding areas.
