Start: Sep 27, 2008
Time: 9:00am
Location:
300 Block of North Arthur Ave.,
Pocatello,
It’s been a long hot summer with lots of work taking place in Old Town. In mid-July along with the City of Pocatello and School District #25 we started work on design and landscaping improvements at the parking lots located across the street from Pocatello High School and on the corner of W. Lander and N. Main Street (old JC Penney site). The improvements bring new curbing, filtration system, interior landscape islands and landscaping beds surrounding the entire area.
It’s been a wonderful summer watching this project come to life. And now with the cooler weather it’s time to add some real life to the project by planting. The design plans call for just over 2,200 small plants and native grasses and 59 trees. This is where we need help. If you have a pair of gloves, a small hand shovel and are willing to get dirty, come on down and help us plant! We have two volunteer days set aside for planting and we’ll run two shifts to try and make it convenient for everyone who wants to help.
When: Saturday September 20th and Saturday 27th
Shift #1 9am-Noon
Shift #2 Noon-3pm
Where: Parking Lot 300 Block of North Arthur Ave.
What to Bring: Gloves
Small hand shovel and a large shovel if you have both
Friends, relatives, kids, co-workers or other organizations who want to help
A big smile!
We Will Provide: Cold Water
Snacks
Lots of fun and community spirit!
Please let me know which day and which shift you’d life to volunteer to help. You may respond to this email or give me a call if you have questions. If you plan to bring a large group I’ll just need to know how many will be in the group so we can plan water and supplies accordingly.
Thank you in advance for all of your help! I hope to see you on the 20th or 27th!
