I'm afraid we are going to have to stay pretty close to home this summer. I am going to make my backyard look like a park and then I can go out there and sit in my yard swing, drink ice tea and read lots of books. LOL

No where, I am not filling the coffers of the oil companies any more than needed for work only.

A trip to lower Puget Sound in August for the 45th reunion of the high school class on either the front or back end of having the granddaughter, who lives there, spend two weeks with us in Poky. Fly or drive, the cost is about the same.

We are planning to stay close to home except for a week at Vegas when I will be teaching for Balloon Camp. To be honest, staying around home is not a problem for us - every years there are more and more fun things added to the list of family friendly things to do here in Bannock County! We love the Farmers Market, Revive @ 5, and lots of other cool concerts, fairs and festivals. Check out the Old Town and the Pocatello Chamber calendars for tons of fun things to do! Other than several business trips that are already planned, we might try to get to Yellowsone Park for three or four days in July. Mostly we are staying close to Pokey and doing some work on mountain property that the family owns in preparation for Hunting season and a couple of winter camping trips next year.

I am going to be going to Utah for a few days in June for a wedding, but other than that no major plans! Everything is just too expensive.

I have been planning a road trip to New Mexico for next week. However, this trip will not be taken now because the price of gas is too high. It frustrates me that this is happening to our country. Boating and RVing is not something people are going to want to do anymore. Gas is going to limit our freedom to play this summer tremendously. Not to mention the effect that it is going to have on the economy.

While you may not be able to take a trip across the country, you can still take some time and see more of Idaho. We have tons of camp grounds and forests very close to Pocatello and even though you are not entirely happy with the lemons the gas prices have handed you - stir up a batch of lemonade and head for the hills! It could be a good bet you will enjoy the peace and quite and not really miss all the long hours driving to get to your former destination! Might be a good time to plan to hit the Farmers Market, a local resturant you have been wanting to try and a few other local attractions right here at home! Heck, come try out the dance floor at the Old Town Pavillion during Revive @ 5 - you can help Bannock Civitan with a great cause and have a boot scootin' time! Maybe we will see you there!
