Each Thanksgiving, they gather at the HawthorneLDSChurch building in Chubbuck to enjoy their very own special Thanksgiving Feast followed by a spiritual activity. With nearly 200 Special Mutual participants expected, the places were set for the evening’s activities, and the kitchen and adjoining rooms were buzzing with volunteers in preparation for dinner. Turkeys, stuffing, mashed potatoes, corn, rolls, desserts – Every nook and cranny was filled with a delectable treat! As they stood in line, paired with an eager youth to help them along the way, the building was filled with chatter, singing, high 5’s and eager appetites! To Dream of Bright Tomorrows
By: Mary Keating
POCATELLO—Hundreds of donations and many helping hands bring the dream of brighter tomorrows to children in our community. Since 1984, Bright Tomorrows has worked directly with victims of child sexual abuse and their families. They have been commitment to helping children and their families heal from the trauma of abuse, addressing the emotional and mental needs of victims through counseling and supportive services, assisting them to live happier lives, and to restore the laughter, joy, hopes and dreams of childhood. Pocatello is a growing community and the number of children in crisis and in need of services is continuing to grow. Due to serious limitations of their former facility, as well as the need to provide timely and effective services to victims, Bright Tomorrows looked to the community for support and help. “We could never have reached our dream of a child advocacy center in Pocatello had it not been for the incredible support of...

I have seen a new grandson come into the world after my Mother past away. She gave me the love of children and a want to have that 24 Hour with them. The 24 Hour with my hubby who is my strength and joy of Life. Who also shares that want of 24 Hour. My Grandchildren and my adopted Grandchildren who give me that 24 Hour of Life. My Grandson who was born with a bi-lateral cleft lip and palate. He is a strong and very cute young boy who has had wonderful Doctors who have made him whole. Each time he has an operation he is and will always be my handsome grandson named Sammy. I'm GrandmaJ to a wonderful young boy name Samuel Haden Lewis Riley and he will be having a birthday soon. Now that name alone is a month full. He will be 2 years old on the 7th of November. He is my ray of sunshine and hope, in the days that I enjoy. The way he communicates with me is so special and to know that we can. He is just learning how to form words, with his mouth that was closed with the last surgery. So the roof of it would help make the sounds he makes. And the words will one day be words that are like "GrandmaJ come play with me". I am waiting and can hardly wait to hear GrandmaJ come from that wonderful little boy. He will have to have a few more operations to help him be a little more whole. But he is my strong and wonderful young...

My first grandaughter is going to be 6 and and that happens to be October 3, 2007 She is a lovely, in motion, learning to be on her own. Is a great helper with her younger brother. Loves to color, to make books with scraps of paper, loves to play games on the computer. With a call from Grandma to wish her a Happy Birthday. she asked me to come and visit her me with a present. I told her I would see her tomorrow at her party. My oldest granddaughter and her birthday present. And I'm the lucky one to have her in my life and what a present she is. TEN COMMANDMENTS OF HUMAN RELATIONS: 1. Speak to people. There is nothing as nice as a cheerful word of greeting. 2. Smile at people. It takes 72 muscles to frown; 14 to smile. 3. Call people by name. The sweetest music is sound of his own name. 4. Be friendly and helpful. 5. Be cordial. Speak and act as if everything do is a genuine pleasure. 6. Be genuinely interested in people. You can like everybody if you try. 7. Be generous with praise- cautious with criticism. 8. Be considerate of the feelings of others. It will be appreciated. 9. Be thoughtful of the opinions of others. There are three sides to a controversy- yours, the other fellow's and the right one. 10. Be alert to give service. What counts most in life is what we do for others.
Robby's Night TrueStory -- Worth Reading !!!
At the prodding of my friends, I am writing this story. My name is Mildred Hondorf. I am a former elementary school music teacher from Des Moines , Iowa . I've always supplemented my income by teaching piano lessons-something I've done for over 30 years. Over the years I found that children have many levels of musical ability. I've never had the pleasure of having a prodigy though I have taught some talented students. However I've also had my share of what I call 'musically challenged' pupils. One such student was Robby. Robby was 11 years old when his mother (a single Mom) dropped him off for his first piano lesson. I prefer that students (especially boys!) begin at an earlier age, which I explained to Robby. But Robby said that it had always been his mother's dream to hear him play the piano. So I took him as a student. Well, Robby began with his piano lessons and from the beginning I thought it was a hopeless endeavor. As much as Robby tried, he lacked the...

At 6:00pm we will have an open house with refreshments. PowerHouse Christian Fellowship is located at 2905 Sunbeam Road,... I have decided to keep a journal and it was one that was hard to start. My oldest daughter Sunshine gave it to me. I wait and wait for you see I am a cancer survivor. The journal has a picture of Jesus with a brown haired child on his lap and they are touching a purple butterfly. With pink roses around Jesus and the child. I love butterflies, their freedom in flight. The way the wind must dance on their wings and make them move and be carried to flower to flower. Well the journal was a scary thing for me to start but I knew that I would. But the time was put off and off now its about a year and a half and I feel the need to write. At first I decided to write about things I am grateful for. My life. My husband Ray, my adult children Tony, Sunshine and Amber who have given me grandchildren. Nine grandchildren what a blessing. For my friends who fought cancer with me and who are not here. For my Father in Heaven. For my older brother Jesus. For my parents. For Ray's parents. My brothers and sisters....
