When my oldest son was in Iraq he became friends with some of the Iraqi interpreters. They could tell that my son was different than other soldiers. They asked about the origin of his values. He told them he was a Christian. They asked more about his religion and wanted to know more about Christ and the bible. It was amazing the respect they developed for each others culture and faith. When I read that our Christian soldiers were forbidden of sharing their bibles with the people that wanted to know about their religion I was very disappointed about the leaders from our country and Afghanistan. In addition the bibles were burn and the chaplains were disciplined like it was a serious violation of human rights. We don't react like them when our own universities teach about the Koran. Our soldiers don't have any restrictions to read the koran if they want to
![]() . BREAKING NEWS: Pentagon Burns Soldiers Bibles - Military Chaplains Attacked A Pentagon spokesman under the Obama Administration...
Look at this picture and see for yourself what Obama would do to be popular. He has no respect for our soldiers. He used some of them for political propaganda. These news have not been reported by any network.
According to a sergeant in Iraq: We were pre-screened, asked by officials “Who voted for Obama?”, and then those who raised their hands were shuffled to the front of the receiving line. They even handed out digital cameras and asked them to hold them up. [Via Macsmind.]As supporting evidence for the digital-cameras part of the story, the sergeant (or Mac, can't tell which), suggests that the identical cameras can be verified in the AP photos. In regards to the article on conserving gas and lowering the speed limit to 55mph I am in total agreement that it will increase your miles per gallon.BUT WHO EVER came up with the chart needs a new calculator or perhaps I missed something in school.I for the life of me and my calculator cannot see how they came up with the numbers on the chart.Or is this some more smoke and mirror B.S thinking no one is watching In running some numbers of my own I could not come up with such a wide margin.I have a 2001 Dodge Intrepid that I have kept close records on.While driving 55 the average mpg per tank was 31mpg. Last week I made a fast trip to Boise at 75 mph with an average of 26 mpg..If I were to use the numbers in the article I came up with a lot different graph. On a 100 mile trip at 31mpg I would use 3.22 gal of fuel at$4.08 per gallon is$13.13 which is .13cents per mile and on the same 100mile trip at 75mph getting 26 mpg I would use 3.85 at$...

Because Congress took their time in attempt to fix the AMT (alternative minimum tax) more than 3 million people will have to wait to get their expected refunds. Is this me??

It will probably be a busy day. This MUST be breaking news because when I tell MY customers it is news to them! Ever wonder why your mailbox attracts spiders and their webs, wasps and their nests, birds and their...by-products, and other boxes are clean? It's because you check the mailbox at lunchtime or after breakfast, and food oil from your hands invites these visitors. Then you, and your mailcarrier, are draped in webs and spiders (and spider bites), chased and stung by wasps busily nesting in your mailbox, and gagged by the bird do all over your mailbox. It might sound funny to ask you to wash your hands before you handle mail and your mailbox, but it will make my 792 mailboxes, and the thousands of boxes we serve, cleaner and safer places to visit! Thank you thank you thank you, Micki Mail Carrier
With some successes and some great containment numbers in the LA area, the crisis is not over for the San Diego County victims.
An uncle of my husbands has a home in Rancho Bernardo. We have been closely watching the "destroyed" list of homes in that city grow and up until last night, his street had not been mentioned. That was, until last night. From what we know, his house has been spared, but nearly 50% of his neighbors on that street weren't so lucky. My adult daughters live in El Cajon - They were victims 4 years ago from the fires. They did not loose their home, but the water and smoke damage took a tremendous amount of time and money to fix. So far, they have been safe. I hear good news is on the horizon - The Santa Ana's are predicted to slow down, and some cooler onshore breezes forecasted for tomorrow should bring some relief to the area. Again, www.cbs8.com has a wealth of information about evacuation areas, listing of homes destroyed, directions to evac centers. This website, and others,... As the fight continues, fire officials warn – worse case scenario – if the winds continue to propel the flames westward, the Pacific Ocean may be the only thing to stop it. The Witch fire merged with another smaller blaze that broke out overnight from a downed transformer. Interstate 15 is still closed between highway 56 and 78. At 11:21 an “overall evacuation update” lists, according to 2000 census data, 513,000 people in San DiegoCounty have received a mandatory evacuation order via reverse 9-1-1 and AlertSanDiego. An additional 12,000 have been advised to leave their homes. There are over 20 shelters housing refugees. Some residents, however, are allowed to return back home at this time in the Del Mar Heights and North East Scripps Ranch area. Eyewitnesses along I-8 claim that the winds seem to be “not quite as intense” and are feeling somewhat relieved. Although the danger is far from passed, residents are still urged to limit their power and water consumption and use cell phones sparingly. UPDATE...
As morning breaks in Southern California, residents and emergency personnel brace themselves for another day in hell. A High Wind Warning is in effect until 3pm this afternoon. There are nearly 60 fire-related power outages in the MiguelMountain area (Rancho Santa Fe). In Ramona, the lack of power is causing water problems – (electrical water pumps) – and residents there are without water at present. Interstate 15 is still closed both North and Southbound in the RainbowValley area. Residents are urged NOT TO USE their cell phones and are discouraging any sight-seeing as the extra traffic is hampering necessary rescue and fire-fighting efforts. A Marine group, recently home from Iraq, will be headed up to the LA area, today to help on the fire line. CampPendleton is on alert and all occupants are packing personal belongings, food, water and fuel to be ready to leave at a moments notice. Qualcomm stadium has an eerie look that reminds us of the Dome in New Orleans. An announcement has gone out – all...
I missed one of the most disturbing phone calls a parent can get, today, because I was driving and will not talk on my cell while driving.
I have two adult daughters - twins - living in San Diego. Well, living is a stretch, as of today. Their home is between two encroaching fires burning out of control. According to the San Diego Tribune, "It's going to get worse". There are hundreds of thousands of people ORDERED from their homes...This is not an option. When the fire and emergency crews are too busy rescuing people (that had previously ignored the evacuations) to fight the oncoming inferno, there is little a homeowner can do. The Navy has ordered all "essential personnel" to check into their base. Qualcomm stadium has turned into a refugee camp for those who's homes are endangered. All SD County Schools will be closed - San Diego State, University of San Diego and UCSD (and many community colleges) have either cancelled classes or have limited to essential employees. The extent of the fires is... |
