There will 11 rock bands performing from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. near the home of Blake and Michelle Shropshire in Idaho Falls.
This show is completely non-profit. ALL of the proceeds will be going to the Idaho Meth Project. Baby animal day will be May 9 at the Eastern Idaho State Fairgrounds in Blackfoot from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will be wagon rides, sheep shearing, goat milking, Cox Honey observation hive and a chance to see and pet baby animals.
Make Kites with The Sky's The Limit! community volunteers: Next kitemaking events (calendar at www.myspace.com/iskf): 1.By registration only at Marshall Library: miniature kimono kite April 15 2. Come to the Community Environmental Fair April 26! We'll be making kites in the activity tent every half hour or so - flag kites for the Veterans of Foreign Wars who host a kitemaking workshop every spring and fall; fish, shopping bag, and newspaper kites. We can recycle most anything into a kite! All kites are free thanks to grants from the Pocatello/Chubbuck Convention and Visitors Bureau, Swanson Construction, and the Idaho Commission on the Arts. If you have department store shopping bags (anything but grocery bags -grocers take those back) you can bring them to our table - at a future workshop you might see them transformed into kite sails or tails! There will be a special board meeting of School District 25 board of trustees May 21 at noon in the board room of the Education Service Center, 3115 Pole Line Road, Pocatello. Purpose is to canvass the election and take action on the newly elected Zone 1 trustee for the remainder of Leavitt’s term and consider taking action on possible reduction in contract and corresponding reduction in salary or extracurricular salary for all professional certified employees in the district. Field of Heroes will be May 22, 23, 24 and 25 at the Century High School soccer field in Pocatello. The tribute honors men and women who lost their lives in Iraq and Afghanistan. The public is invited to all the programs. The schedule is: May 22, 10 a.m., opening ceremony, speaker Gov. “Crips and Bloods: Made in America” will be shown April 14 from 5:15 to 6:45 p.m. at the Bengal Theater, Pond Student Union at Idaho State University. It is free and open to the public. After the film James “Byrd” Yizar, associate dean of student affairs who grew up in Los Angeles, will talk about gang culture and gangs in Pocatello. The film depicts scenes of graphic violence. Tobacco Cessation Program to Hold Free Class
Pocatello – Most people want to quit tobacco but just don’t know how. Nancy Caspersen, RN, will teach you how to quit. Classes will begin on Monday, November 30th and continue through Thursday, December 3rd, 2009. Time options are from 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. or 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. During these four consecutive days/evenings, Nancy will provide participants with the information needed to succeed in tobacco cessation using coping skills that are healthier than lighting up or reaching for a chew.

The Smokeless Drinkless Regional Singles Group, based out of Pocatello, had a fun filled evening of singing and dancing to a live band on Tues. Aug. 11. A special thanks goes out to the band "The Ramblers" and Becky Moore, former Century High School Choir Director who led the group in singing campfire songs! In all about 100 people were in attendance. The evening began with a potluck and was held at a local park. The Smokeless Drinkless Regional Singles Group is non-denominational and welcomes singles of all ages with or without children. All activities are non-smoking and non-drinking. The Blackfoot Performing Arts Center will be hosting a Fourth of July Celebration Concert at 7:30 p.m. in the Blackfoot Performing Art Center, 870 S.
