Idaho Summer Repertory Theatre presents Disney's The Jungle Book Kids at the Beverly Bistline Theatre. Performed by Pocatello youth; directed and choreographed by Blair Bybee. 45 minutes of fun for the whole family!

Eagles Lodge, in conjunction with Disabled American Veterans, will conduct the sixth annual “Rock-in-Stomp-in” car show June 6 at the lodge, 635 Hemmert, Idaho Falls. The event begins with a flag-raising at 10 a.m. by the veterans and Cedar Badge Boy Scouts. Raffles and food will be available. All show cars, motorcyles and trucks are welcome. All proceeds go to the DAV, including buying a van to travel to the VA Hospital in Salt Lake City.
A free developmental screening will be June 11 from 8:30 to 11 a.m. at Bingham Memorial Hospital, 98 Poplar St., Blackfoot. For children ages birth through 2, the children will be screened for vision, coordination, self-help, social skills, learning, growth, hearing, speech and language, feeding and health. The Portneuf Greenway Foundation and its sponsors will host the first Greenway Gala June 13 at the Juniper Hills Country Club in Pocatello, beginning at 7 p.m. Events begin with a beer and wine social hour at 7 p.m., followed by dinner at 8 p.m. Guests can bid on several silent auction packages and there will also be a live dessert auction. Dancing with music provided by Swingshift will be open for the rest of the evening. Tickets are $100 per person, with all proceeds supporting projects and activities of the Greenway Foundation. People who enjoy riding ATVs and UTVs in the national forest and Bureau of Management lands are invited to a trail ethics education event June 13 at Kelly Canyon. Forest Service, BLM and Idaho Fish and Game officials as well as Idaho Department of Parks and Recreation officials will be on hand. Harley-Davidson and Buell Friday Night Live presents Random Sam June 5 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Eagle Rock Harley-Davidson, 1444 Yellowstone Ave., Pocatello. The Portneuf Valley HOG chapter will sell hot dogs and hamburgers but the concert event is free. All proceeds will go to the Portneuf Valley chapter to support its many charitable events and activities.
Valley Pride will launch its “War on Weeds” June 3 at 10:30 a.m. at Pocatello city offices, 911 N. Seventh Ave. Pocatello Mayor Roger Chase and Chubbuck Mayor Steve England will send off volunteers with a proclamation. More than 100 volunteers are expected to take part sprucing up the main areas of town, sweeping up leftover sand and gravel from winter plus clean up weeds. Revive at 5 Pocatello Old Town Summer Concert Series will be June 3 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Old Town Pavilion, 420 N. Main St. Performing will be Plain Jane, with catering by Taste of India and sponsored by Bangs Office Supply. There will also be a ribbon cutting. Please leave your pets at home.
John Rush will perform at Idaho State University on the Quad June 4 at 6 p.m. Called the human iPod, he sings and plays the guitar, bass, harmonica, piano, sax and percussion. This and other summer concerts are free and participants are asked to bring canned or non-perishable goods to exchange for ISU summer gear. The food items will go to the Idaho Foodbank. There is also a free barbecue for ISU students or $2 for those not enrolled.

Dance Factory Dance Studio, 5026 Brook Lane, Chubbuck, will have their dance recitals June 1 and 2 at Pocatello High School auditorium. June 1 time will be at 6:30 p.m., and June 2 at 5:30 p.m. The dance studio is owned by Gina Underwood, who has been directing the studio for the past 10 years. The recitals are free. The vehicles additionally support Vet Center services to rural areas geographically distant from VA services. There are 50 Mobile Vet Centers deployed across the United States at this time. Graduation ceremonies for the Pocatello/Chubbuck School District’s four high schools will be May 28 and 29. More than 830 students are expected to graduate: 209 from Century, 320 from Highland, 242 from Pocatello and 65 from New Horizons. The Highland High School XC Camp will begin practice June 15 at 8 a.m. at the Alameda Middle School/Center track. The camp will run Monday through Friday and continue throughout the summer. The camp is free for middle and high school cross country athletes. Athletes interested in attending the camp are required to have a pair of running shoes, sports watch and water bottle. There will be a special board meeting of School District 25 board of trustees May 21 at noon in the board room of the Education Service Center, 3115 Pole Line Road, Pocatello. Portneuf Valley Audubon Society will host “Art Meets Adventure” May 21 at 7 p.m. at the Idaho Museum of Natural History Room 204 at Idaho State University. The Silver Chords Chorus will host a fund-raiser May 30 at 6 p.m to. benefit the Pocatello Senior Citizen Center, 427 N. Sixth Ave. The theme for the evening will be country western. The show will start at 6 p.m., followed by dessert and a dance with music by the Ramblers. There will be a variety of door prizes. The cost for the event will be $6 per person and $3 for the dance. The Franciscan Cre-Act School will host their annual play, “Jacky’s Magical Beanstalk” with a matinee performance on May 23 at 1:30 p.m. It will be held at Idaho State University’s Frazier Auditorium, 921 S. Eighth Ave. Mother Dorothy Prokes, FSE, creator of the school, will be on hand after the performance to sign her recently released book about the school and the curriculum. The audition for dance scholarships to the IDAA Dance Camp held this summer at the College of Southern Idaho will be May 23 at Reed Gym, Idaho State University. Registration is at 9:30 a.m., and the auditions are for ballet, tap and jazz. Students that are auditioning must be age 12 by August. Students may register at the door or pick up forms at the Pointe Shoppe or from their dance teachers, or call Kaydene Gilbert at 226-5483. There will also be May 23 a workshop held at the same place and the classes will be in ballet, tap and jazz. Cost for the entire workshop will be $10. The workshop runs from 12:30 to 2 p.m. All proceeds will go toward scholarships. The workshop is for students ages 7 to 12. The audition is open to all students in Pocatello, Idaho Falls, Blackfoot, American Falls and surrounding areas.
May 22 there will be a new volunteer orientation at the Pocatello Animal Shelter from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Zoo Administration Building, across from the Animal Shelter building. City of Pocatello Parks and Recreation Department will have a new class on mountain biking May 21 and 28, June 4 and 11 with times from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. The trail rides last about two hours and the first ride will be to City Creek, and subsequent rides to Scout Mountain, weather permitting. Participants must have their own bike and certified helmet, water bottles or hydration pack. Cost is $10 per session or $30 for all four.
