Have you ever heard of rainbow bridge? I love to think of my furry kids that are gone hanging out in the big, grassy field, happy and healthy and playing and jumping and running like when they were puppies...and waiting for me to come get them so we can cross over rainbow bridge into heaven together. You have my utmost sympathy, but know that as his best friend, you showed the most noble type of love possible when you sacrificed your own need to have him with you longer in order to relieve him of his pain and misery. ~hugs to you~
