        <title>The Tale of Princess Poke...an Idaho Fairy Tale - Bannock County Pet Tales - PortneufKennels&apos;s Blog - TheJHub.com</title>
        <link>http://www.thejhub.com/home/Blog/PortneufKennels/599</link>
        <description>Far away and high in the mountains of Idaho sometimes you can see some strange things.
There is a spot in the Idaho Outback called &amp;quot;Marsh Creek&amp;quot;.&amp;nbsp; One day a couple&amp;nbsp;of men driving a cement truck watched a little dog covered in porcupine quills come up to them.&amp;nbsp; She asked for their help.&amp;nbsp; The men knew instantly that this dog was a princess in disguise and they agreed to help her.&amp;nbsp; She told them that she had lost her way and that her name was &amp;quot;Princess Poke&amp;quot;.
The men called the Bannock County Sheriff for help on their magic phone.&amp;nbsp; Then the sheriff, who also wanted to help a princess in distress, called P.A.W.S.&amp;nbsp; Arrangements were quickly made and a volunteer met the men at the truck stop and rescued the princess.
The princess had quills in her mouth and nose and could not eat or drink.&amp;nbsp; She had lost weight and was thin and dehydrated.&amp;nbsp; The volunteer knew she had rescued the princess just in the nick of time.&amp;nbsp; She probably would not have lasted much longer.
But this in an &amp;quot;Idaho Fairy Tale&amp;quot; and the little princess was taken to a doctor and with the help of other volunteers she made a full recovery.
Princess Poke wears her battle scars from her &amp;quot;Idaho Bush Adventure&amp;quot; with honor.&amp;nbsp; Anyone who has been thru a &amp;quot;battle&amp;quot; of his or her own know how she feels.
Princess Poke visited with me for a weekend and she was a true lady.&amp;nbsp; She was quiet, clean and very well behaved.&amp;nbsp; She told me that she had lost her way and needed to find a new castle to watch over.&amp;nbsp; She only had one request...that in her new kingdom there were NO cats as she just could not get along with the silly creatures.
I agreed to tell you about Princess&amp;nbsp;Poke and now I am looking for a &amp;quot;Fairy Tale Ending&amp;quot; to my story.
Princess Poke is now looking for someone to adopt her and treat her like a princess.&amp;nbsp; She would like to be a house dog and have a fenced yard.&amp;nbsp; She is a young dog probably about 1 1/2 years old.&amp;nbsp; She is a min pin terrier mix but she looks like a miniature Doberman.&amp;nbsp; She is about 16&amp;quot; tall. Her cropped tail wags all the time.&amp;nbsp; She has a lovely disposition and likes people and other dogs.&amp;nbsp; She does not like cats.&amp;nbsp; She walks well on a leash and could be easily trained.&amp;nbsp; She has gained weight and is almost totally healed.&amp;nbsp; She has been vaccinated and the vet thinks she has already been spayed.

Also up for adoption are 3 small dogs.&amp;nbsp; Their owner has passed away. They are neutered and vaccinated and recently groomed.&amp;nbsp;They are house dogs and are used to using a doggie door.&amp;nbsp; All are sweet and lovable and need someone new to love.&amp;nbsp;
Mishka, a 5 year old female Miniature Schnauzer.
Chipper, a 7 year old male Chihuahua
Teddy, a 10 year old male Maltese
