Hey Maxine - it would have been great; We could not shell out the 7 bux per person (35 bux for my family) just to get in. Shame on Phil Meador. Thats ok; I got a quarter tank of fuel and we watched for free!!

We had a great time at the fairgrounds for the 4th of July. We were so glad at how well our kids game area was received! We had 4 different games with prizes for 25 cents a game or $1 for a try at all of them.
The most fun for us was seeing what kids created while making "Pet Rocks" and red, white or blue star necklaces. A couple weeks ago one of our kid artists made hair for their creation! For the 4th we added a box of yarn peices cut into about 4 - 6 inch strips and tied into small bundles. Lots of kids glued them onto their pet rocks for hair. What a hoot. For just $1, kids could make a pet rock and design a necklace, too.
We hope to add a few more of these family friendly priced items for next year. If anyone has an idea or two for fun, easy games feel free to let us know what has worked well for you. Feel free to copy any of our craft projects for your family or event.
The 4th in Pocatello is one of our favorite events for the summer. This year was great - just a light breeze and it was not 103 degrees like the day before! My face paints did not melt at all! ; - D! I loved the fireworks; the commentary and music are really uplisting and spirited. We are so bless to be Americans!
On a side note - Who ever was selling corn at this event really knew how to do it right. The ears of corn were beautiful and they were cooked to perfection! The kids really loved the Juke Box Games, too.
