Pocatello Vision: The World We ingore, The world we can't quite see.
When I read the paper or listen to local radio or watch local news, I am amazed by the level of, oh let me call it creative innocence we exhibit and seem to glorify. I want to try to find ways that I can help my fellow townspeople understand what is not even hinted at between the lines of our local media.

The Coming Storm

You will read varying reports and opinions about how good or bad our economy is at this time.  Some will tell you that all is well and just continue to consume and flatter yourself at the highest levels you can imagine.  Maybe be cautious around some of the those obvious problem areas like real estate and gasoline.  But otherwise spend all that you might acquire because there will be no judgement tommorrow.  Buy imported goods because that will prove that we are a people of the world.  The others seem to be saying to pull back expenditures a bit because we have a little recession going on.  Our savings plans have been a non issue and we will have to wait to see the economy correct itself a little before we can resume the course of unlimited avarice we have embarked upon.

Eat it up if you like cake.  Do you have the means of lighting and heating your home ithe utilities fail abjectly?  Can you provide food for your family and close associates for five or six years until everyone figures out how to provide for themselves?  Do you have the means to provide protection and disincentive to marauding gangs of have-nots scrabbling for whatever shreds of an old society and economy they can find?  When the mighty fall they will wallow in disbelief that our government cannot rise to save them from the poverty and misery that is coming.  And we here in Idaho will have it good in comparison to the legions of dispossessed in other parts of our nation.

Hang in there you of great faith!  There will be a check coming in the mail and good will prevail over evil in every case.  Be not afraid because thy 401K will save thee.
