I'd like to clear something up before everyone thinks that I'm a reckless, trigger happy, nutcase. I dont like war like everyone else, but I dont think that this war is wrong. I'm for the soldiers, always, since I have a cousin over there. I'm not trying to start a fight, only express my thoughts. I'm confused here. I began thinking the other day, like I do before I usually get in trouble, and I realised somthing profound. Why are we so obsessed with this war? We have troops all over the world that are "protecting" but we dotn say a thing about them. What are our boys doing in Korea? Huh? Well, simple Anna, they protect the South Koreans from the North Koreans... From them invading them. I also know, that the border between those two countries is so up tight and tense because a war that could break out at any second. We dont even have enough men there to make a defence if there was a war. But... We dont say anything about them. Tell me again what we are doing in Iraq... We are protecting the civilian, or trying to, from the terroists. Geeze. These two sound very alike. Though, our men are dying in one place and not the other, there are conflicts on the Korean border all the time. We just aren't told about that. Our boys, soldiers, are the only soldiers in the world that would put their lives on the line for some other country. Why is that? Becuase they are the best. Does anyone remember the fear we all felt on 9-11? Everyone felt fear. We felt fear one day, then anger the next. The people in Iraq, before we went in, felt that fear every day. If we leave, that fear will never be free. They will always fear. ON 9-11, thousands lost loved ones. Everyday in Iraq, thousands to millions have lost loved ones becuase terrorists killed them becuase they had an opinion. We say, "But those poor starving children in Africa!" Children in Iraq starved! The Curds were starved, as well as gased. What's the difference? We went into Africa... what was it? Somolia? We went in to help those poor starving children. What happened? Black Hawk down, that's what happened. So, when you hear some one saying, "Oh! Poor starving..." Just remember that we ARE out there to save and help, just no one ever seems to look at it like that. Instead, our own people call ourselves murders and invaders. God Bless our men out there, where ever they may be! They are Heroes. Everyone of them. I can't wait to go deer hunting with my dad this year. He claims to be the greatest hunter ever! But... we dont get a deer every year. LOL I'm still pumped. I find that just hiking into the middle of no where for a week and not seeing one deer can still build memories and have a great time watching chip muncks run up rocks. Actually, I hope I do get one this year. I tried for elk last year... didn't see anything! It was a sad year. Usually there's a ton of elk and deer in Soda. We went camping up there this summer and deer got into our camp. It was pretty cool. It's funny, I love hunting... but Dad ... maybe Aaron will do ti later... has to gut the animal. I dont do well gutting it. (It's a woman's thing) And I want to be a paramedic... I'm more like... parathetic. Hmmm.... But I will gut my own animal one day and I will be a true hunter. Last time my brother won the hunt with a DOE! Not this year... hehehe. Another season that I"m pumped for is grouse. I'm getting all excited. Maybe this Sunday I'll head up and try to find something. With the drought thought this year being so bad.... I hope the animals didn't high tail it to some other state. Well, my weekend went rather well. We went dove hunting the 1st, a family tradition and my favorite season. I'm glad to brag that I beat the guys, (Dad and brother) 2-0. Girls rule. Thing with doves though, they're so small... the breast meat is hardly worth eating. LOL Mom fixed it with some chicken and it was good. Then, my boyfriend, my brother, and I went up to Bloomington Lakes and swam around there and camped at some place near St. Charles. ... I think that's the place. Anyway, here's the cool story we have. My brother had his own tent, becuase he's too good to sleep with Aaron and I, (LOL) and we just got done playing an overextended game of BS. Well, he goes to bed and Aaron and I settle into our sleeping bags. Now Aaron always brings a gun. He calls is "phyco repellent." It's not that he doesn't want to get eaten by a bear... that's the least of his worries... it's other people that he fears. Let me clear something else up... He would never shoot anyone unless they were a real threat. Well... He brought his gun, which was on the other side of me. As we settled down, the dogs at a neighboring site starting barking. I told Aaron that made me nervous becuase those dogs haven't barked at all while we were here. We had our lantern ontop of our food container... and it fell onto the ground. I froze. My worst fear had come alive, some strange, unknown, animal was in my camp. Aaron just reaches over me, in the dark, gets his gun, loads it, and everyting in the dark. When he cycled it, the scratching on our food box stopped. He got out and wondered through the area. Nothing. So he came back to the tent. The next morning there were racoon tracks everywhere! Dem racoons. It was very frighting. But it was overall a blast. I encourage everyone who loves the outdoors to visit Bloomington lakes. If you dont like Idaho now, pay those lakes a visit and the nearby springs and you'll see Idaho in an unadultered way. It's the way most people find so beautiful about Idaho and why they do love it. I dont love Idaho for it's cities and it's people.... though they're better then Utahans. I love Idaho for it's pure and realxing wilderness. The unknowing of what lies over a mountain and the animals that can surprise you and keep you up all night while camping. I do enjoy that. I love the rush of survival and at the same time, the relaxation and rejuvination of it's beautiful mountains. I love idaho for the challenge it gives me. I love Idaho. That's all. Now, I can not approve of Pocatello in many ways. But Pocatello is one of my favorite just becuase of the recreation it holds just 15 minutes to 4 hours away. Idaho is home. Good night Ya'll -Anna- |
