Wolves
The Idaho Anti-wolf Coalition wants to put an initiative on the Nov. 2008 ballot that would force the state to discontinue all Canadian wolf recovery efforts. If that happens, Canadian wolf management would simply revert back to the stricter federal government regulations. Personally, I would rather the state be in charge of wolf recovery efforts rather than having the federal government telling us what is best for Idaho. Maybe the question we ought to be asking coalition spokesman, Tony Mayer, is why the coalition favors federal control over state control.
