Lil' Sis Diana
Lil' Sis DianaI would like you to know about a little bit of a gal, Diana Lindsay, my lil' sis. Diana was born on May 9, 1954, she was greeted by her loving parents. I was five years old and remember even then what a beautiful soul had been born that day. Huge brown eyes, little petite nose and a face that was angelic, she reminded me of one of my most prized baby dolls. My mother and father named her after a famous actress in the 1950's Diana Lynn-Lindsay. A name that sounds like a beautiful lyric to a song when said. Her life was full and as with any human had it's ups and downs. She triumphed over all trials and tribulations for she was a stalwart, honest, hardworking woman. She raised her children on her own and I often utilized her loving techinques with my children. She loved her parents, children, siblings and friends and we all knew her to give so much to others, many times denying herself to make sure someone else had what they needed. And, her love of animals was truly a gift to not only her own "fur babies" but she rescued many dogs and cats in her lifetime. She would literally put her life in jeopardy to chase down what appeared to her as a frightened and possibly lost pet. She would endeavor to find the owner, if not she made sure it got to the shelter for adoption. Her employer Tony was such a great boss, he always respected and loved her. Her employer and co-workers were much of the reason she got out of bed and went to work. She was a loyal employee and worked ever so hard. He little petite frame began to deteriorate a few years back, she had a 60% curvature of her spine. None the less this little lady went to work in pain each and everyday-for it was her committment. March of this year she had a life threatening illness. She once again triumphed over a bad situation. When I awoke some mornings thinking that I did not want to go to work or the weather was bad-I quickly got over that attititude, if my lil' sis could get up and go I surely could get my fandanner in gear and "get er' done" as she would say. She was truly an inspiration to me and so many others. Yesterday we celebrated her life for she was such a blessing to all who knew her, we will forever miss her gentle soul. We know that she was greeted by many family members that have gone before. We also know that all her "fur babies" that had gone before were there to kiss and love her. And our heavelnly father has welcomed his child home. We know that she is free from physical and mental anguish and her spirits soars with the angels. I know she watches over each and everyone she knew. What a wonderful guardian angel to have on your side. Her parents made sure that her little body was interned in a most beautiful way for it was thier desire to make sure her little body was well taken care of here. Her soul can now rest peacefully. We shall all miss her. She will miss being with her granchildren for they truly were the lights of her life. She always used to say that children were a great way to grow to adults if they were properly tended. Now it is up to her daughter to make sure that garden grows strong and beautiful. I am asking, imploring that anyone that can please, please consider adopting her two "fur baby boys" Barney and Shortie. She told me many times when her health began to fail that it would haunt her no matter where she was-if her babies did not have a loving home. They are currently at the Pocatello Animal Shelter. Mary Remer the manager of the shelter knew Diana well and her love of animals. I commend Mary for taking extraordinary steps to make sure that Diana's wishes are carried out. They are lovely little boys that I know desparately miss thier mom. They would love you ever so well if you will just give them a chance at extended life. Thank you for letting me tell you a bit of the life of Diana Lindsay, there is so much more. I could literally write a novel regarding the wonderful person that so few got to know. God Bless you all and please hug your familiy and friends and never forget to tell them how much they are loved. Sharon Nilson - ever so proud to have been called BIG SISTER to my lil' sis Diana. 2 comments from 2 users
