I just noticed that half of the Pocatello police department is outside the Journal's building, Garfield is blocked off behind it, they got the dogs out and everything. Anyone know what's going down?
Just got back from the caucus - turnout was HUGE! The ballroom was packed with close to 1400 people. The (very very unofficial) results? Obama 67% to Clinton 22%

No, not really.
This is just more of a, hey jhub, how's it shakin. It's been quite a while -- I thought this website would be more useful than it turned out to be. But hey, what are you gonna do?
It's finally that time of year! They're expensive, but worth it. The downside is that all other apples taste disappointing after eating a honeycrisp.

Benton Overpass Deficient MSNBC has some nice data about the thousands of obsolete and structurally deficient bridges in the country, but of special interest to those of us 100% local to southeast idaho is http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id... One thing they don't do a very good job of is letting us know what those numbers mean, exactly... but the 49.1 rating for the Benton overpass doesn't look very good... considering the bridge on 35W in Minneapolis that collapsed was rated at 50 (http://www.startribune.com/... , http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id... according to msbnc: A structurally deficient bridge is closed or restricted to light vehicles because of its deteriorated structural components. While not necessarily unsafe, these bridges must have limits for speed and weight.does anyone know if there's a posted weight limit on the benton bridge? I dont' remember seeing one... UPDATE: according to the Journal http://journalnet.com/artic... the bridges are safe, but the article doesn't mention anything specific about benton's 49.1 rating, tho it does say Because the local bridge ratings by the Department of Transportation are under 80, the city qualifies for federal repair money, Turner said. And if ratings ever dropped below 50, it would qualify for bridge replacement money. After the tragedy in Minnesota that has reportedly claimed five or more lives, the city engineer believes bridge inspection will be looked at more seriously around the nation.
Went to Goody's for lunch (mmm... canadian bacon and sour kraut....) and there's a FOOSBALL TABLE in the bar!!! It wasn't there last night when I was there for Drinking Liberally. Here's the low down:
1 goalie, with ramps 50 cents lots of balls per game (10 or so?) but alas, it's no tornado table. Doesn't ball handle that well. feels kind of cheap overall but I'm not complaining!

I simply don't know what to say about the disaster in Minnesota. www.startribune.com/10204/story/1339911.html (remember, bugmenot.com is your friend) My question is this: Will we as Americans, pull together and invest the trillions of dollars needed to fix our nation's infrastructure, or will we simply sit back and watch our great nation crumble before us?
