I FEEL WIFE'S PAIN

DINA MCGREEVEY TO MRS. CRAIG: 'FACE TRUTH'

By GEOFF EARLE

Post Correspondent

August 31, 2007 -- WASHINGTON - The wife of "gay American" Jim McGreevey said yesterday she knows exactly what Larry Craig's wife is going through after the Republican senator got busted for soliciting sex in a men's room.

Dina Matos McGreevey, who split with her husband after he went public with his homosexuality, said she sympathized with Suzanne Craig's painful and humiliating situation - and offered some advice: "Face the truth, whatever that may be."

"I looked at her face and I thought, 'Oh, my gosh, that was me just three years ago.' I could see the pain in her eyes and I know what she's feeling and empathize with her," Dina told "Inside Edition" last night.

I have great sympathy for wives in this situation.   We live in a society that has pushed homosexual men and women into heterosexual marriages.    When will we wake up and change?    Clearly homosexual people should be encouraged to marry same sex partners and have, at the very least, domestic partnership status.  It is the intelligent thing to do.   It is the Christian thing to do.  It is the human thing to do.
