In Remembrance of the Victims of 9-11
As the day grows closer I really have to stop to remember all of our fallen citizens. I really still have a problem dealing with everything that happened that fateful day. I remember waking up that morning and my family calling me into the living room. There on the screen was the the horrible pictures of the Twin Towers on fire and people running for their lives. No one at that time knew exactly what had happened ot what the whole event would start. To think that one year before we felt as though we were safe and that nothing like this could happen in the United States of America. The land that allows almost everyone into our country to educate them and live here. Why is it that so many countries seem to feel that we are so bad when we help them so much? A great speaker once said the following: "Let every Nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill, that we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe to assure the survival and success of Liberty." John F Kennedy (1917 - 1963) Even in the 1960's we stood up for our liberty. We didn't understand the word terrorism as we do now. But we still made our feelings known to those countries that thought bad of us. How any person could put that many lives in harms way is not understood by me. I don't think that many people can understand this either. Let us all remember the lives lost and the families that live everyday missing their loved ones that were lost that early morning of 9-11. Not to mention the men and women still in Iraq standing up for our Liberty today. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. 2 comments from 2 users

Amen, sista! I remember that horrible day like it was yesterday. A few years ago I had the chance to talk to the sister of one of the victims, and she told me all about him and that's when it really hit home for me. Although I didn't know anybody involved in the tragedy personally, getting to know about one of them through a family member made me feel like I did. His name was Daniel Van Laer and I think about him every year on this day. He died trying to help other people get out of one of the towers. He saved a lot of lives and sacrificed his own.posted by

God Bless you. A day doesn't go by without me thinking about that horrible day. Fear struck us all, when we were at peace. This is why, I personally am at war with Iraq and Afganastan. Becuase NO ONE should ever live in fear and God bless our soldiers for fighting for liberty and freedom. God bless you for remembering that day and what happened. Not alot of people still do.
