Video Contest
So you may or may not have heard, but ‘80s glam rock band Poison will be performing at the Eastern Idaho State Fair on Thursday, Sept. 4. Down at the Jhub we decided to have a little fun with this and host a video contest.The winner will get two free tickets to the show. Here’s how it goes: We want to see a video of you and/or your friends impersonating Poison. One or all of the members past or present. You could even do a spoof of Brett Michael’s reality TV show Rock of Love! Have fun with it! Just make sure you keep it at five minutes or less, and of course keep it family friendly. Here’s how to get it to us: Myspace and Youtube videos can be posted on the Jhub. There are different techniques for uploading each.
1. Post the video to either YouTube or Myspace video.
2. Post a Jhub article with "Poison contest" as the title.
3. Post the video code in the body of the article, then click on the "Source" button that is just above the area for the body of the blog. I know it sounds confusing, but it is really easier than it sounds.
Or just burn it onto a cd and bring it down to the office at 305 S. Arthur. in Pocatello. And no, you do not have to be a Jhub user to participate in this contest, so tell your friends!
Entries will be accepted through Aug. 15 and the winner will be announced on Aug. 22. Please include your name, phone number, and a brief description of why you want to go to the concert.
We will be looking for creativity and originality.
So, get out your spandex and super sized cans of hairspray, and review the lyrics to “Every Rose has It’s Thorn” and “Unskinny Bop.”

And the winner of Jhub's June photo contest is . . . . (drum roll, please!) jinx with the photo of her little girl playing in the sand! Congrats! You have won a $25 gift card to Fred Meyer. Runners up were Jessie's photo "The Sweet Smell of Summer" (The horse sniffing the lilac bush), rosiemae's "Monkey Secrets" (The boy with the monkey on his shoulder), and Jen Ford's photo of the little boy playing with the hose. Congrats to all!
Get ready for July's photo contest! It will begin on Monday, June 30 and run through July 25. I will announce the winner on Aug. 1. The theme will be "Celebrating Freedom." When judging we look for originality as well as content . The winner will receive a gift card.
To enter a photo, simply post an article with a brief description of the photo. Then attach the photo inside the article. Make sure you use the words "July Photo Contest" in the title so we know where to find them! Deadline for entries is July 25. One entry per person please! You must be a Jhub user to submit a photo, so if you aren't already, sign up now! It's quick and easy!
